Starting issues sigma m30 classic my99

Hi all,

need some advice please. This has happened twice now.

When I have parked up I have pressed the fob to arm the alarm. I then have pressed the fob to dis-arm the alarm, I then went to start the car after the time out (i think solid light).
I have turned the key in the ignition and pressed the fob to dis-arm the immobiliser. The car would not try to turn over but I have a solid light.

After a few attempts I managed to get it started, i think I have to arm it and wait 30 sec or longer then dis-arm, and i got it to work.

Now I have by-passed the fuel pump wire from the alarm as the output was not working. (Not good when driving home from a night shift and car cuts out. Took me weeks to find the problem.)

Now does this fault mean I have a similar problem with the ignition output?

I have read you can replace the main circuit board will that fix the faults?

Is it a relay on the sigma which is on its way out?

Any help would be grateful as this is may daily runner and I would like to have a good idea before I start to rip out the dash to find the sigma box.

M series getting old now parts are rare
be best to replace with the S Series or overide the starter cut
but then you have no Thatcham system on :-(

The fuel circuit has a relay which can be replaced if your keen and all else is fine. It seems to be a common fault on the older Sigma's and I have even seen part of the circuit burn out on the board which isnt all that clever :(
