I KNEW this would happen.
My car is flat out of fuel. I've left it until today, payday, to get some, due to having no money left in the bank. :(
BOTH Shell stations now gone, and Tesco, as usual, are out of stock of Momentum. A query to them regarding when it will be back in stock reveals that they don't know, since it comes from a different depot and that depot is now having trouble sourcing it. So.........car is running on fumes, I'm on foot.. Cheers Shell and Tesco, you b@stards! |
octane booster no good for this sort of problem.. !?
|
Hi - You're in/around Scunny aren't you ? I had exactly the same problem. I resorted to the old shell station near Asda (Now JET) and tried some of their super unleaded. I have a std '03 PPP WRX and it actually seemed to run better than V-Power but it was expensive !! Worth a try if your stuck.... Cheers.

This is why I brim my tank on a Friday no matter how much I've used as it's sods law to happen! Current weekly mileage would see me ok till mid next week at least.
Tesco have a search thing for petrol stations with Momentum, I used it when down at Bobs on Saturday Jeff :) |
Shell has a free app to find the nearest Shell petrol station around you. :D
|
I`ve told you before.............................you really gotta move mate :lol1:

Thanks for the info Andy...
Always good to steal a car with a full tank... :lol1: dunx |
I'm going to get slated for stating the obvious, but: Get it mapped for 95ron.
< gets coat > :D |
I'd never run on 95 ...... Ever !
|
Ive never had the misfortune of shell or tesco not having v power or 99. Maybe i,m just lucky..

dunx: empty your inbox mate.........
No Shell stations withinn 60 miles now ;( And not enough gfuel to get to Donny, 25 miles, where the next Tersco is, who MIGHT have some Momentum:rolleyes: And no Octane Booster: left what was left of what I had in France for use there as their supermarket fuel is CR@P. Need to get some, but what to buy? And what would my car run on, say 95, or 97 octane if it were remapped and is making around 400/400 now? |
How about 95 Ron with a 10-20% meth mix mapped in. Never have to worry about higher Ron fuel again if you are having constant problems sourcing it
|
ive got 3 shell stations all within a mile - lol
|
But how do you carry around 5-12 litres of meths?

My old scoob's been running on it for 15 years now. :D |
Exactly why my car was mapped on 95. I can usually get Tesco momentum but of not I run it on 95 and take it a bit easier. Couldnt do with all that hassle!
Goodl uck finding some decent fuel anyway Alcazar. |

5 litres is just over a gallon.
12 litres is nearly three gallons:( |
im such a pleb!, ive owned a scooby for a few months now and have been running it on standard petrol, am i right guessing, the car will run better and pull better on the higher octane stuff? where i am, in bedfordshire theres a shell garage that does the higher octane race type fuel its riddiculous, its about £2.50 odd a litre, but feck me, i had 2.0 16v nova i got 20 litres of the fuel given to me in a barrel, you could tell it was race type fuel as its smell was obvious, you could barely take a whiff! lol lets just say for about 70 odd miles, the nova went like feck, and my foot was down constantly, it did make a massive difference.. wonder what the scooby would be like running on that type fuel, if i remember correctly it was 106 ron or maybe even 110? it was stronger than the normal, momention, optimum stuff, i know that for sure! lol
|
OP, why dont you get it tweeked to run on 97 ron as its available almost everywhere, or if your ecu supports twin maps get one on v power and one on 95-97 like mine,.
|
If you need a lift mate...

Depends on what model it is, and whether it has been previously mapped to run a certain fuel or not. Before Saturdays map, my UK wagon would happily run on NL but I personally chose to run Tesco 99 in it (unless not available). If your car is an import (after circa 96-97) then I would swap straight away to SUL. :thumb: |
I'm looking at a remap.
My ecu is a LINK, old technology, but about the only thing available for mine when I had it done forst, and it DOESN'T support twin maps. :( |
The benefits of using 95 RON :D
