Type R/RA Roof Vent, limited only?

Did the roof vent only come on the Type R/RA limited's?

Thanks

Type R V Limited V5/6

i think merv is correct, i think it is an option on v3/4 type r and v1 ra dont have it (dont know if its some or all)

Saalro 25 January 2012 06:39 PM

Thanks, i was just working out what shell i would like in the future to build.

Seems the Type R and P1 shells are the same, apart from the models with a roof vent and the WRX/STI shells and the Type RA shells are the same apart from the ones with the vents, which i guess means the UK Turbo is all the same also.

Thanks

I'm undecided if i like them or not as a fuctioning feature. Can you drive with them at fast speeds?

Thanks

mervil 25 January 2012 06:54 PM

I have been up to about 130mph on track with it open, just don't open it above 50mph as the catch will snap! Can't close it above 80mph ish either ;)

WRC scoop over it would be nice i think.

Thanks

It does put a fair bit of air into the car, you have to be careful of wasps/bee's getting dragged into your car though, wouldnt be a pleasant experience with one of those flying around and you driving at higher speeds

MY97 V3 STI V-limited came with a roof vent. It is not an RA. Should be in 53C blue - ie medium gloss, not the later, lighter met sonic blue. Limited run of 555 being produced.

2003 V-Limited (JDM) has roof vent as standard too!

What a down draft! Does make fair amount of noise at 80+ when closed though. I might need a new rubber!:)
