ROCKER GASKET I.D ???

Hi guys i'm back again with another query!! after you guys rightly told me that the smoke rising from the engine area was probably the rocker gaskets this has been confirmed so thanks for that :luxhello: the next problem is after ordering the gasket kit replacement from a subaru garage in ciren using the engine code from the plate under the bonnet the guy who is replaceing the gaskets has informed me that they are the wrong ones ?? i was told when i bought the car it may have had a different engine dropped in but how do i know which one so i can order the new gaskets, where will find the relevant info from?
thought they might of known at the subaru garage when we took the old gasket to them what replacement would be needed but obviously not:mad:
your help as always will be very much appreciated cheers phill
p.s i have a classic 96

From what i remember when i got mine, there are 2 types for the classic, if you have ordered the right one for the yr of car (1996) yet its the wrong type for the different engine you have fitted i guess you have a later classic engine in there

so order the type for the phase 2 engine

if you have a later engine in there, well done LOL, but get the engine I.D code and go from there

Thanks for the help it got me going on the right tracks! basically after alot of messing around i sent a picture of the gasket to roger clark's and they managed to match it , but to my surprise it matched an engine from about 99-2000 so was happy with that thanks again:thumb:
