Paralell Fuel Rail Mod on classic
got a classic scooby wagon which i'm aiming for over 320bhp, got my last part yesterday was which my 440cc's and reading up, some people have done the paralell fuel rail mod to help with fueling.
can i use my standard fuel rails for this paralell rail mod? and how easy would it be to do? i'm not a newbie so know a little bit about fitting things to cars etc also i know you need a fpr too, seen from else where that the standard psi for my 440cc's is 44psi? is this true? |
My classic runs 400/400 or close, and I was advised that the fuel rail mod was a waste of money at this level.
|
so using my 440cc's and standard fuel rails and standard fuel reg i be fine?

mine will be driven hard on tracks once set up and mapped
also am i right in saying that the standard fuel rail causes starving of fuel on cylinder 3? |
the classic's are prone to lean mixture/det on no.3 cylinder due to it being last in line for fuel and next to the hot down pipe/turbo with not enough cooling through the intake duct soon as you start tuning upgraded fuel pump/regulator,paralel lines mod and injectors are required ignore this at your peril:nono: also don't go for intake mods without a remap.

You will need modified rails or alloy rails available from any specialist. It's not vital but if your car is in bits a good time to do it. Also when I fitted my RCM 400 even with manifold spacers the Samco turbo pipe was squashed until I binned all the pipes under the manifold, but this may not be a problem on later models.

If there was, my engine builder, the guy who helped me and my mapper would all have the fuel rail mod and it would have been recommended. It wasn't. In fact I was dissuaded. |
I did this on my V3 classic cutting the standard rails and useing a fuel lab regulator.Be aware that you must use the correct rated fuel pipe and i used a flareing tool on the ends of the rails i cut to avoid any leaks .

would using standard fuel rails be ok for what i need? no point in buying high flow rails?
|
I had my standered rails moddified from mocom racing but easy to do yourself if you have access to a welding machine

You can buy them already moded, but I used the alloy ones. Speak to Nick at advanced automotive he can supply what you need.

Parallel rails are a waste of time and money at that level, IMO.
Just swap the regulator, and providing you've got a competent mapper and suitable ECU, you shouldn't have a problem. |
