Crankshafts

Hi just wanted to know if a uk 2000 crankshaft is the same as a 2003 crankshaft? Just a mate of mine has done this and now there is no pulse to injectors or coils.

Hi, real silly question but has he plugged the
crankshaft sensor back in?

Yeah plugged in and been replaced so has the cam sensor.

Cranks are the same, it's just the thrust control position which differs which wont have anything connection to your problem.
Have you fitted different crank pulley or Left Hand Inlet cam pulley with different trigger pick ups ??

Put it on the picoscope today, got nice patterns on cam and crankshaft, I get an injector trigger but only on cylinder 1.But 234 are dead and I've got no spark. :-/ any ideas?

Is it the 2000 pulleys or 2003 pulleys you are using?

Bean666 21 January 2012 01:54 PM

V3 Ecu I think, it's a 2litre WRX but it's using 03'heads and a uk2000 bottom end.

merlin24 21 January 2012 02:03 PM

Left hand Inlet pulley trigger segments are wrong then if using 03 Heads.

Ignore that then - I thought you said it was a Version 3 ECU :thumb:

Bean666 21 January 2012 02:17 PM

Right the ECU says V3 or could be V4. Should do what I've done and simtek it

Bean666 24 January 2012 08:36 AM

The ECU does say V3 so is it a version 3 then?
