Major Detail info needed :s

Hi guys,

Just need some advice/opinions for giving my car a major detail before taking the car off the road next month.
The car is normally washed weekly using autoglym products (shampoo and glass polish) and is given a coat of extra gloss finish monthly. Wheels are removed and washed monthly too but not polished/coated.

Current products i own are:

Bodywork shampoo
Glass Polish
Super resin polish
Extra gloss finish
Leather shammy
Cotton finishing clothes
Microfiber clothes
Wheel cleaner
Bucket
Sponge

all Autoglym products

The major detail im thinking of doing before covering up (and hopefully doing more often time allowing XD) is

Wash > Clay > Polish > Wax > followed by a coat of extra gloss.

Wheels removed > Washed > and polished.

Ive compiled a small list of other materials to purchase...

Autoglym clay kit
Autoglym HD Wax
Autoglym wheel brush
Poorboys wheel polish/sealant (have heard its the stuff to use)
Wash mitt (unsure of make/type to get)

also need something to keep my new afterburner backbox shiny :D but dont know what to use as i dont want to ruin the mirror finish, and i want to give the arches a good going over so need a good but not terryfying brush? and some cleaner or will the autoglym shampoo suffice?

Engine bay is wiped over every few weeks so is in no bad way to require degreasing and jet washing etc...

Any thoughts on my current method or other things to get.

WR Blue hawk sti

Thanks in Advance

Ditch the shammy, can't beat a good mf drying towel.

Detailing World is a good forum for info.

loose the shammy that will do more demage than anything. CLAYING is the must of a clean car it will take a long time to do but will make one hell of a differnce and will make it safe to dry. A good wax is a good idea to as will make cleaning and drying in the future alot easyier which is what we all want. Just ask if need some advice which is best and how much you want to spend. Good luck the hard work will be worth it i promise. Hear is a few of my car to look at.

I never clay without a machine polish after.

You might leave a bit of marring behind (even if its only a small 1 inch bit) and rather than leave the marring I always go over with the DA and something like 106fa just to make sure. (or 85rd etc)

But thats just me and how I work.

And add ALOT of MF's to your list.
