i/c waterspray 2005 STI

Scoobs due for a service soon. For some reason my i/c waterspray doesnt work. Never worked since I bought it. Is it worth me getting fixed? Im not looking to sell the car for ages and havnt missed the spray as have never used it. Does it make much of a difference?

Probably a fuse out at a guess, Helps in the summer, Cools down the intake temps

i never noticed any difference when using it, my pump failed in mine.
if you remove the window washer one in the engine bay you can plug this one in on the plug on the ic spray to see if the pumps at fault.
i got a new one on ebay for 7.99

IMO they are a gimic on the UK STI as to use it effectively it should be Automatic like the JDM version. The JDM cars do tend to empty the bottle quick tho.
Pesonally I like everything to work in my car but I wouldn't spend much to get the I/C spray working.

Mine stopped working a while back (same year car) and the plug had fallen off the back of the switch apparently.

Does the motor make a noise, I had same fault with mine, the motor worked but no spray.
I just put a low pressure air line at the spray end and back flushed the pipes loads of black stuff came out (pipes were blocked). Drained the tank and cleaned it never had the problem since.
Does not make any noticable difference to performance.

Ive never noticed any power increase using it. I use it if ive been in traffic and i know im about to come onto a clear road where i can give it some boost.

The IC spray and the instrument dimmer switch have got to be the most pointless bits of equipment on the car! I used it once just to see what it does and couldn't believe the time and effort that must have gone into them! :lol1:

To get most from it need to spray at right time, uk cars with manual system would be awkward to do thos, my my05 jdm does use quite a lot of water in the summer, but on uk car only time I could see to use it would be if been stuck in traffic and then just give it a spray before pulling away. But saying that something that didn't work on my car would bug me and I would have to sort it.
