Second that, I have that setup and it's top notch. Ordered on a Monday morning and they were here when I got back from work on Tuesday. If you were thinking of doing track days and such you might want to conciser some orange/yellow stuff pads.
|
no track days planned , to expensive :D but i have heard of ebc orange stuff and they supposed to be good ? im after a fast road pad with low brake dust if possible ? as im going with white alloys . but really whatever lasts and brakes best is important :thumb: the low brake dust would just be a bonus .

We can offer you the front and rear grooved discs and front and rear orangestuff pads for £350 Cheers Ian |

If we fit front and rear discs and pads , and change the fluid we charge £100 , it's not a difficult job , just time consuming , if your handy with spanners it's easy enough to do.
Do bit of searching around and there will be guides on how to do it , and if your stuck doing them i'm always available for advice either on the phone or on here |

Go for it fella....... Slightly off topic this.... Your signature says STI type RA 555 V4. I've not heard of this model, I thought the only 555 car was the V2 saloon 555 and wagon 555. |

i have the 335mm 2 piece discs and converted 4 pot calipers with blue stuff pads and they are excellent. if u go for a good disc and pad combo you cant go wrong. i had ferrado ds2500s before and didnt like the instant bite although the were good when warm so got the blue stuff instead, big diffrence in bite. not tried the orange yet but maybe when my run low

If CoB can do it, any monkey with a spanner can. :D
I'll do mine when required but mainly as I'm not paying someone cash money for something I'd do on train brakes etc. at work :D |
Yep, Ian sorted me out with this kit (kevlar pads) for the front on mine. Its better than the standard set up, but will get brake fade when really pushed (although mine could probably do with brake fluid change as I don't trust that it was done on the last full service). Will probably try the EBC pads next time round, can definately recommend Ian though, top service.

make sure you use dot 5.1 fuel as ur fluid wont boil over
if youve got the money go for 2 piece discs they dissipate the heat quicker and cool down quicker and good pads like the blue/orange stuff. my motto is go for gold then u cant think of (i should gone for bigger discs etc) |
heard lots of bad rep in the past about godspeed brakes but recently I needed to replace front brakes and was directed to a GB on here which was an extremely good price
so i bit the bullet, purchased front grooved discs and pads from Godspeed drove 30 miles to garages to get them replaced, first side all done no hassles, other side problem....the 5 holes were drilled offset therefore the disc not lining up and sitting correct, took us 1/2 hour to figure this out as you wouldnt really expect this to be the problem so I had to return home that night with my old setup back on and contact Godspeed about this problem was told this was a first and a new one would be sent out, I asked for it to be double checked before sending to me just in case this disc was ok so after a 120 mile round trip i got my brakes sorted and I must say are very good, although they do squeal some what under light to medium brakinig. I have to say tho, I was mega pissed off that I wasnt offered some kind of discount by way of apology for a serious **** up on engineering fault that cost me £40 in fuel for 2 trips to garage and double the labour time - remove old, fit new - remove new - refit old - remove old, fit new |
what pads are u running as that may be the problem for squeal, or may be some surface deposits on discs, do a fast run and stamp on brakes a few times to clear deposits.
|
done that busta - i think its cos its the kevlar pads
i have DS2500's to fit but not got round to it and as i have the hatch up for sale now I dont hink I can be arsed to change over now its not bad , just intermittent, must be at certain speed and temps to cause n effect |
mine squeaked a bit with ds2500s at certain speeds although they were good pads just the bite wasnt good enough till warmed up and u had to press em quite hard to feel the bite but the blue stuff u just have to touch to get resopnse. ive still got my ds2500s as a spare as they are still good pads.
|
my advise for brakes is go for the best u can get if you dont want issues.
mid range brakes are ok but depends on how you drive |
Mine work fine with Ians 328mm discs and Kevlar Pads. No squeeking or problems. Well happy :thumb:

You may see some as everybody makes mistakes , but you won't see lots Again I am sorry this happened , but we don't drill the holes in the one piece discs , all we do is grooved them , unfortunately this problem came from the factory , and its not something we have ever had to check for before. We sent you out a new disc as soon as we were made aware of the problem , as we have grooved the discs we cannot send them back to our suppliers as we have modified them , so while I do appreciate it caused you some hassle it has cost me about £75 to put it right. If you have anything from us in the future , make me aware of who you are and I will offer you some further discount. Cheers Ian |
