Was worse than I first thought !!
Well as some of you may remember I repaired my rear arches last year. They didn't look too bad with only a small amount of bubbling so decided to tackle the job myself.
All went well and the finished result looked really good. However towards the end of the year the bubbling reappeared so my repairs were obviously not up to the job. I decided to have it seen to by a professional and went to see a local body shop who have a very good rep. Car is there now being worked on. Got a call from them yesterday asking me to pop down to have a look at the car and some pictures that they have taken through the job. feck me, so it rotted from the inside out ?
was it a uk or import (looks like a uk ? ) and either way,was it undersealed ? glad its getting sorted but you can see why on other classics a simple £300 repair by the bodyshop can be fecked in a yrs time if its like that on the inside ! |
Import and yep, was undersealed. Usual thing though, water and muck had obviously over the years stacked up in the lip on the inside of the arch.

Just goes to show, what looks minor on the outside is often far worse underneath.
All repaired now and being enjoyed by its new owner...... |
thanks for sharing, i remember another thread about this subject but in more depth at the repair shop but cant find it or the poster
