GRB/N14/N15 QUICK RACK SPEC C WILL FIT CLASSIC??

HELLO GUYS,

AS PER TITLE I AM LOOKING TO REPLACE A QUICK STEERING RACK ON MY CLASSIC.NEW RACK COMES FROM GRB/N14/15 SPEC C AND WAS TOLD THAT ONLY FRONT CROSS MEMBER NEEDS TO BE CHANGE TO COMPLETE A SWAP IN A GC8.

HOWEVER I WENT THROUGH SEVERAL THREADS AND FIND OUT YOU COULD JUST SWAP UJ'S ON THE LINKAGE,WHAT ABOUT BUSHINGS HOW WOULD THEY ATTACH TO NEW RACK WHEN THE NEW ONE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT DESIGN.

DID ANYONE DONE SAME SWAP BEFORE,ANY HELP APPRECIATED:notworthy:notworthy

There is no place for the bushes and brackets to go on classic front subframe, the UJ's are not a problem.
Plus i dont think the GRB front subframe will fit classic without mods. Will defo fit 2006-2011.
If not possible then shame ,this one is brand spanking new:mad:
Still would give a try and see how it goes, fingers crossed:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have one fitted to my v6 wagon, you will need some longer bolts as the Spec C rack has a thick cast bracket on one end rather than the pressed steel brackets on a classic rack.

The real issue is the UJ; the steering column is different on newage cars so you will need to retain the upper portion of the UJ for your steering column and then mate it to the lower part on a newage version. I didn't like the idea of cutting and welding so I had mine taken apart and reassembled by an engineering shop so no cuts. Good luck.
