GC8 RA competition spec'd bare shell

Not quite a full car so not sure if you'd count this as parts instead?

Anyway, this was built as a bit of a cross breed between a time attack shell and a race/rally shell. It's my own 4 door 1995 RA shell which if it doesn't sell I will continue to slowly build into a race/mad road car.

All fabrication and welding work was carried out by myself, (FIA approved welder), using a GC8 weld in Custom Cages FIA roll cage as a start point. Extra strengtheners and gussets have been added around the front door openings, door bars, windscreen bar and front legs, rear cross and rear strut tower diagonals.

The shell has been carefully seam welded in all the critical areas, door openings, floor pan, strut towers etc. Boot floor has been removed and replaced with a flat floor to run a diffuser or lower ground clearance exhaust etc. Rear chassis legs have been strengthened. Heater matrix bulkhead holes have been plated along with the air con holes and normally blanked holes.

Rear arches are cut back to run fibreglass extensions and run 17"x10" wheels anything as low as 40mm off the ground.

A hydraulic handbrake platform has been added to the passenger side gearbox tunnel angle towards the driver for maximum leverage, (I'm a fierce hydro user!!). T45 seat rails with welded tapped inserts, passenger seat set back and very low to the floor. FIA harness eye plates welded for a 6 point harness both sides.

WRC sill stand supports welded and blended into the sills.

Fibreglass roof scoop blended to the roof.

Full chemical clean and sand blast in places, then coated completely with Zinc primer, inside is two pack white, exterior has been started to be spray but needs flatting back and another coat. Inside is dusty due to being sat in a garage for 18 months or so.

Looking for £2800 for the shell the way it is or thereabouts, not interested in a quick sell or stupid offers as I will finish building it if it doesn't sell. I only want to go the space-framed route now if this sells for sensible money to recoup a bit of the labour put into it.

I can supply doors, face lift aluminium bonnet, boot, newage WRC fibreglass rear spoiler (cut out at the bottom ready to mate to a fibreglass base that is made to convert this to fit to the classic boot) and 22b front bumper if someone wants to buy the lot for £3100. Think I've got enough paint to throw in for someone to finish the paint work.
