Third Visit
Modifications: 18" OZ Alloys, H&S Back Box, STI5 Spoiler, K-Sports (Front & Rear), HSD Coilovers, Whiteline Anti Lift Kit/Bump Steer Kit, Powerflex/Super Flexbushes

Best Reaction Time: .2898
Best 1/4 Mile Time: 14.5098 @ 93.67

Looking at the modifications, it's hard to judge if the 1/4 mile time progression is from better handling, driving or both.
K-Sports are heavier, suspension is lighter and the other handling bits are probably around the same.

Wish i had a time for my car when it was standard, does anyone have a time for a Turbo 2000 as standard? Would be interesting to know what it would have done on the 16" alloys.

Thanks

Nice to see you improving a setup to improve times, although it is debatable ie you could just be getting a better time through more experience and better technique?

Time for some engine mods me thinks..

Saalro 28 December 2011 11:31 PM

I think the most realistic conclusion would be that, through more experience my times are getting better but i would hope that the handling has improved, even if just .0001.

Looking at the modifications the handling should be better, but the slight extra weight may neutralise this.

Looking at photographs i can for sure say that the front end is now kept low, where as before i use to literally be taking off lol.

I also use the car on track so i beleive given the correct geometry setup, some good tyres and corner weights set, i think it would for sure beat the original handling on the strip and track.

There is no dout though that by getting better suspension i now can adjust it to suit and handle better, something in which OEM suspesion can't do to the extent mine can now.

To be honest my main concern is the 35 profile tyres.

Thanks

And managed to run a 13.6620 was well happy that was side by side with a evo4

Ciaran 29 December 2011 09:22 AM

V2 sti with 2.1 stroker conversion running AF td05 20g mapped for 10% methanol

Best time 11.68

With my gt30 bolted on I'm hoping for mid 10's :D

P1Drifter 29 December 2011 09:23 AM

11.5 @ 125mph on an old air field 60ft time was 2.08 seconds

wrx9181 29 December 2011 09:26 AM

Hoping to find out this year ;)

ScoobyDoo69 29 December 2011 09:49 AM

Thats a big jump to hope for, I think your going to need about 600bhp out of the gt30 to get those times.

We will see, I have a plasma cutter now though. Power to weight ratio always helps. Front mounted gt30 billet, a full set of slicks a 1000kg car with an estimated 540 bhp.

Any sort of 10 and il be happy.

Also scoobyclinic car is doing 9's with a gt30 on a 2.1 already :p

ScoobyDoo69 29 December 2011 11:44 AM

The ScoobyClinic drag car weighs nothing though!

Saalro 29 December 2011 11:52 AM

Got a figure for that nothing?

I've recently stripped my car extensively, it will be interesting to see what i'll get now, i'm going for the power to weight ratio method.

Thanks

eggy790 29 December 2011 11:54 AM

and its a billet gt30 mate not normal gt3076r :)

Anger 29 December 2011 11:54 AM

11.4@124mph 0-60ft 1.58

2.0 with a Md321T running 451bhp 410lbs/ft

ScoobyDoo69 29 December 2011 12:03 PM

I know it was somewhere in the 900kg range..

Great time there Anger, is that in your blob?

Anger 29 December 2011 12:05 PM

Oops forgot to say that's in my RA... The blobs just a track car

think its down to my jap ratios and my useless gear changing, I'm pretty sure I will manage a "10" in the next coming set of events. We still have to line up next to each other some time :)

wrx9181 29 December 2011 12:33 PM

What you got in the blob anger ? Engine wise power etc

Anger 29 December 2011 12:40 PM

2.35 with a rotated Gt30/63 for fast spool at the mo, running 500/460@ 1.6bar

Engine was fitted, run in, Mapped and at the Nurburgring in 6 days, so isnt really pushing it at the mo, it's going threw some more changes at the mo

MartynJ 29 December 2011 01:42 PM

10.88 in a full weight Classic 2 years ago.
I'd like to beat the UK bolt on record next year, but too many people will moan that my turbo isn't a proper bolt on as it has a custom downpipe and elbow and points to the drivers wing.
Of course they're all wrong, lol.

you could always upgrade to a "v";):)

Bicco 29 December 2011 02:15 PM

Ive got a few comparisons that are slightly interesting.

03JDM STi, ECUtek map, full exhaust, Coilovers, 3 port, walbro fuel pump.

12.89@105, 1.8 60ft (pod)

Same as above minus circa 100kg of weight.

12.82@106, 1.8 60ft (pod)

Same as above plus 10% E85 megarom map, whitline arbs, links, anti lift kit, camber bolts.

12.55@108, 1.69 60ft!! (pod)

Same as above plus exedy twin plate clucth and flywheel.

12.49@107, 1.79 60ft - Elvington this time, so maybe a tad quicker at Pod.

Same as above + SC46ts, FMIC and ID1000`s

See this summer! :)

ScoobyDoo69 29 December 2011 02:19 PM

Wasn't it 3 wheel drive at Elvington Bicco :p

Bicco 29 December 2011 02:36 PM

It may have been after a slightly over exhuberant, diff locked, 7k launch on the gripy stuff at the start of the handeling circuit.....:)

Spoke to a few people now that seem to think diff locked + hard launch with grip = new half shaft. I`ll be sticking to DCCD-A launchs next year, a little sidways of the line, but still netted 1.69 at pod.
