Non starter

Hi all :)

Need some help trying to get my car to start (95 wrx wagon).

A few weeks ago I put a new battery in my car as the old one was pretty shot. All was fine up until today...

The car's refusing to start today. It will crank and turn over but then it will just die straight away. I'm not sure what could be up. I know it misfired a short while before this happened so I'm thinking maybe need new spark plugs?

I guess this is where I'm turning to you guys for some support :) I've got 4 brand new ngk NGK PFR6Bs but I don't have the tools or the knowledge to fit them. Is there anyone in London that can give a helping hand in putting in these new plugs? I'll be more than happy to pay £ and give a nice bottle of drink too.

Kinda stressing as it's coming up to Christmas and I don't want to be stuck at home and be unable to see my step daughter and family.

Any help would be kindly appreciated.

Merry Christmas all.

Doubt its spark plugs, maybe the crank sensor? Have you checks all the plugs and connectors are in tight under the bonnet?

Crank and cam sensors are always a good place to start if the car won't run. I doubt it's plugs unless you've really fouled them up somehow. It won't be coils because they are individual so it'd at least run on 3.

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. I had the RAC come round to take a look.

He managed to get the car started after some time but done a lot of head scratching.

We also just realised that my fans are always on. I'm guessing now dodgy sensor?

Just read my error codes and have 21 and 24. Engine coolant temp sensor and idle air control valve? Would these cause the engine not to start up?

Coolant temp sense could give a false reading and make it run too rich I'd guess and that may foul the plugs, the idle valve would only cause it to stall and hunt at idle and I guess your fan switch is also faulty.
