can only imagine extremely thick people would purchase the likes of this - no education, then its your own fault. |

£5 it would be cheaper to buy the items and make your own!
|
Not really, Paul. It won't take much time to prepare them, but ingredients will certainly be over a fiver. I quite like the idea for steering group/focus group meetings etc. Caterers charge £5 to £8 per head for similar sandwiches with some stale fruits and cheap juice. You may get some ready made onion bhajis or springrolls on top, if you are lucky. They may also stick some readymade cake slices in, if they are feeling generous. This platter idea is definitely cheaper than hiring high street catering services for meetings and conferences. I shall give them a try. :thumb:

When myself my 6 sisters and brother lived in the same house and all went to school my parents would make weeks worth of sandwiches and freeze them in bags they would may a months worth - back in the days when they did monthly shops and buying in bulk.
They would get them out in the morning and by lunch they would have defrosted and were fine. |
That is just plain lazy. That's 30 portions right? So only 7.5 sandwiches.
|
So what is this I you talk about ?

ASDA White tin loaf - sliced(400grm) £0.55 Castelli Cheese Grated(100g) £1.18 ASDA Thin Sliced Ham(110g) £1.00 Marg =Stork Spread(500g) £1.00 ASDA Tuna & Sweetcorn Filler(60g) £0.40 ASDA Onions(By Weight)£0.76/kg = say 50p ASDA Real Mayonnaise(500ml) £0.92 Total = £5.55 and it could be done cheaper ;-) All purchasable from Iceland also for these prices and it would make more than 30 triangles which uses 14 slices of bread. Just for fun mind :D |

I mean, wtf does an Artificial Blueberry taste like and why in God's name would you put it near pancakes and sausages!!!

Just for fun mind :D Hang on, though. Where have you added the cost of the kitchen running and other hidden costs, hmm? Take a fraction of your mortgage out for that 10 minutes of your sandwich making. You only need to take your kitchen into account, not the whole house. You will have to put the lights on in the kitchen as well so that you don't mess it up. You will also need heating to keep warm in the kitchen. You may even put the radio on to keep you entertained while making sandwiches. Okay, won't take that long to make the sandwiches. But, but, but..........think about all sorts. E.g. you will have to go to town to get all the ingredients, which means driving there and parking your car. Add fuel and car parking as well. Add wear n' tear for ragging your car to the town for ingredients too. Then, add the cost of the platters and the cling film. Even cr@p quality foil platters are a quid each in Tesco. You can't buy cling film less than .59p even if it is Tesco Value one. Now then, add the time you have wasted in running around for buying ingedients for these sandwiches to the time you spend on making them. Pay yourself at least a fiver to make them. Tot it up with the cost of the ingredients to your kitchen rental/mortgage, fuel, kitchen electric, gas, extras like cling film and platters etc. Then, come back and re-discuss. :D TT is on telly and Robbie is on stage. Sorry for spelling etc..:brickwall |

They taste about the same, but it's debatable you'd want to eat either :D |
Who has the time to make sandwiches?!
For my kids, I make time. Work colleagues, bejams! :D I read that fresh orange juice flavour is artificial doe the deoxygenation process leaving it entirely tasteless? I can quite image the artificial blueberry and thumbs up for admitting it ! |
thats why mum goes to iceland....and the kids are gobby little ****s that have the attention span of a redneck with a banjo after being fed with **** food.
|
wow how judgemental are you lot .. so are we saying everyone who shops at Iceland is a "chav", single mum or benefit scrounger ?
Just so I can update my opinions accordingly .. |
no but most of the food if full of crap that makes kids go mad...

I'm just a little concerned now as the misses bought me some Nom yoghurts from there .. :Suspiciou |
I shopped in Iceland on Saturday :D
I do live in Essex though ;) |
hang him
|
I'd say the sandwich platter is pretty handy if you are throwing a kids party or something. Kids don't really give a monkeys what they taste like really, as they are there to have fun not to discuss whether the cheese or ham is nice.
I'm sure they don't taste that bad either as they would not sell them otherwise. And know I'm not an Iceland rep, I actually work for Sainsbury's :) |
It's "no" my dear .. ;)
