Hope some one can help me here, I stopped on my way home tonight to get a paper and when I got back in the car I noticed the ABS warning light was on. I stopped at the next layby and stopped the engine, I opened the bonnet and I could hear the ABS unit wirring away, I disconnected the battery and it stopped.

I then reconnected the battery and it started wirring again and the engine wasn't running. What the hells going on ???

I've just been out and bled the brakes all round incase of an airlock somewhere but it's still the same, I've disconnected teh battery for the moment so it doesn't flatten my battery.

I know that if the ABS light comes on the ABS controller has found a fault with ABS system and the ABS function is halted but normal braking is maintained.

I'd rather have my ABS back.

Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sounds as though one of the relays gone.

I thing there are normally two relays, one expensive and one cheap. Take it to a Subaru garage and they might let you try and find out which one has gone.

Good Luck

Cheers for the info on Relays Alex..

I'd love to take it to a Subaru garage but it's an Import and with Subaru UK being the W@nk3rs they are over Imports I'm out of luck.

I've got hold of some diagrams and I'm gonna try and work it out somehow...

I wouldn't care as the car goes next month when I get my new one, bloody typical.

I've fixed it..

One of the bloody ABS relays was loose in the pick shown, I reseated it and now everything is o.k.
