TD05 20G oil banjo bolt

I'm trying to fit a Harvey Smith TD05 20g to my 2.5 conversion and was wondering about the size of the hole in the banjo bolt at the block.
I was running a vf24 as standard (98 V4 STI Type R). Is it ok to use the original banjo bolt as the hole is very small like a pin hole or do i need a different one as the 20G is a bigger turbo?
Also i'm having trouble fitting as the metal coolant hose is hitting the block and is a different setup pointing to towards the front of the car compared to my vf24 hose which curved back under the turbo, I would have to re-route and fit a new longer rubber hose. Is this normal?
cheers

The banjo on the oil feed pipe? Are using stock oil feed pipe?

Did it not come with a pipe fitting kit? My 18g did although its not one of harvey's

The banjo bolt on the oil feed pipe that bolts into the block and its a braided oil feed pipe that came with the turbo.
cheers

It will be fine to use if it was supplied with the 20G.

As for the water pipe, you can use a extended pipe from the header tank to the water feed pipe.

The banjo bolt is from my original 2.0l setup. I'm building my 2.5 and am now at the stage of fitting the turbo on but worried about the hole size for the oil supply.

So you got the original banjo bolt with a braided line on it? If the hole on the banjo bolt is like 3-4mm i think it should be fine to use.

yes i'm not using the original oil feed pipe

I would change it just to be on the safe to prevent oil starvation. I got a brand new oil feed line, just cover the postage & its yours.

Its the banjo bolt i'm worried about

JdcTypeR 10 December 2011 07:30 PM

You will have to fit a new pipe at an angle or bend the one you have, it may even crack if you try to bend it. Basically need to do a little mod.

JdcTypeR 10 December 2011 10:37 PM

ive bent it but dont want to go anymore as its starting to stress. ive started to grind a bit off the block so it will fit but if you know where to get a new one can you let me know? You are talking about the metal coolant pipe lol ?

Yes man, had headache on fitting the MD plus a 20G on a RA, so telling you with experience.

http://www.pirtek.co.uk/ these guys can do a mod for you

You can also use a file to to grind some of the block but i rather get the pipe modded.

JdcTypeR 10 December 2011 11:08 PM

cheers mate, do you have any pics of the mod, is it a modified metal pipe?

Just took the pipe to them & they modded it slighly so it sits at an angle. Decent & very helpful. You can mod it yourself but just be careful it dont break.

Or

Just drop a Harvey a PM, he will know much more as its his turbo.
