For how much bhp you are looking?

Your OE ECU is still best option,i wouldn't brother with any aftermarket ECU if you are not looking for more than 500bhp+ and it this stage i would go only with Syvecs ECU

Yes ALS and LC its available on new age OE ECU via OS Group N ROM

On his 06 STi is available EcuTek RaceRom which can have same function as Group N plus few more

For £1600 you will have fully mapped Syvecs ECU,but for best prices i would contact here mappers

About the Link G4,never tried,my friend run this ECU on his EVO and has been happy

Ecutek Racerom will give you launch control, flat shifting, switchable maps, downshift autoblip and MAP based control should you want it, but no switchable ALS as yet.

There is no plug and play syvecs for hawk yet, therefore it would need to be a gp version and a loom adaptor would need to be made so 1600 is not going to happen.

The oe ecu cannot do antilag, there is no group n map for the hawk, racerom as has been said has twin maps with indication of which map it is on, flatshift, downshift autoblip, launch control and can be run mafless if required.

On the other hand the link g4 is a fairly capable ecu

I forgot on Hawkeye/DBW version and as you are said price will be higher...

OE ECU can do ALS like older 16-bit or newer 32bit via OS CarBerry Speed density,at moment is available only for 16bit ECU(WRX/STi 01-05),but in development is 32bit patch for DBW

32bit 2007/2008 WRX ECU

If you are going to swap it out at all go Syvecs, if the budget won't allow it leave it alone and get it mapped on Ecutek again.
