Is Surrey (Bracknell area) too far away for you?
If not we have some amazing runs in Swinley Forest and around.

hello mate been to swinley a few times over the last few months its really good, takes me 1 hr to get there up the M3. Only problem is every time i go i have taken the mrs with me so not been able to ride the big stuff. last time i was there I found this little gully full of jumps.

It would be good to be taken around by a local who knows all the best trails.
Have you been down to Queen Elizabeth Country Park?

I've not done QECP.
To be honest, we have Swinley on our doorstep and can ride in from our house, so we don't tend to ride anywhere else much. Although we have done a few trips to Wales from time to time.
We always tend to go on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm at this time of year.
It can be sticky and wet, but they have just finished off two new sections of man made track and they are awesome with lots of nice berms and jumps on them.
One we call Lagunar Seca, because of it's undulations is particularly good.
We've been riding in Swinley for about 10 years now, started before it became fairly popular, but even now it takes some beating.
If you do go make sure you get a permit, because it covers you for insurance.
A few months ago we saw a guy who had come of being helicoptered out and he had no insurance, so they ended up sending him the bill. Better to be safe and covered than sorry and paying for a heli-trip you didn't plan for :-)

next time im able to come up i will give you a shout see if i can tag along.
If you ever get a chance you should visit the Forest of Dean that is the best place I have been so far. only be 1.30 hrs from you.
As for sticky and wet you wana try QECP its almost unridable but propper good fun
