If only I drove a deLorean!!!

Just a little update on my previous thread "sneaky damn rozzas".

My Notice of intended prosecution states that I was travelling at...........

Wait for it....................

88 Miles per hour!!!!! :luxhello:

If only I had a DeLorean, then I could go back in time and slow the
**** down! Haha.

I would say, being in the knowledge that I was certainly travelling a bit faster than that at some stage, thats a bullet dodged!

Danny Dooby Doo 07 December 2011 12:07 PM

Won't know for a few days. I have to send my licence details back first. I'm holding out for a speed awareness course. That way I'll dodge the points. My copper mate isn't sure they are running one for motorway speeds though so I'll just have to see.

Norman Dog 07 December 2011 12:16 PM

I've been on a speed awareness course, you lose the will to live after the first hour.

It beats getting 3 points though.

It will tell me the penalty in the next letter. This one just says the speed, time, date etc. then asks me to confirm it was me driving. I've told my mrs that she shouldn't borrow my car without asking! Hahahaha

Gutted1974 07 December 2011 01:18 PM

was it by gun?

Did you ask to see its calibration test result and did you ask to see evidence that the user has formal training on the equipment?

Top tip ;)

I've got one on the 16th - not looking forward to it for that very reason...

...However, much prefer being bored to tears for 4 hours, compared to having the points, though.

In the documentation, it states that you should make "a contribution" - whatever that means. :cuckoo:

Norman, did you make any valuable  'contributions'?

I wonder what would happen if you were caught speeding on the way to a speed awareness course. Could you get away with it as you aren't "aware" yet?.

Class, genius, et al.

I did one a couple of weeks ago, it was worth it just for the group introductions at the start.

"My names Cyril & I drive an Fiesta"
"My names Doris & drive a Polo"
etc,etc until it came to me.

"Hi I'm Andrew & I drive a scooby"

The look on the tutors face was priceless :D

snowy95wrx 07 December 2011 04:33 PM

I went to one a few years back and as above the intros were fun
had the usual micras and stuff but I was a bit nervous about the scooby when the guy before me said I`m dave and i drive a ferrari

joz8968 07 December 2011 04:39 PM

Not looking forward to the intros, then :(... And simply all other twa... sorry, people.

gpssti4 07 December 2011 04:40 PM

I wasn't offered one at a lower speed than that.

Agreed. Pure genius! Haha

The intros make it sound like an AA meeting. Hi, my name is Danny and I'm a speedoholic. I'm sorry to say that I've had a speed today but I'm hoping that with the support of this group I can fight this terrible disease and once again become an asset to my community.

I followed one up the a38 near derby a while back, looks ok from the back and a bit wierd at the side/front. Not sure it had the time machine pack though..

That is amazingly clean....

When are they upping the speed to 80mph? I thought they had already
had as I was over take loads of coppers at 85mph... (10% would be 88) last week.... :(

Terminator X 07 December 2011 09:40 PM

Speedo's over read is why your actual speed is clocked lower ... I travel at 85 on my speedo on m/ways the basis being speedo reads 10% high (70 real mph is 77 on speedo) then you're allowed 10% up + 2mph before getting pulled ie 87 on the speedo ;)

TX.

Yeah it's not an exact science but you're certainly in the right ballpark. The only way to be certain is to constantly have your sat nav on the dash or to buy a road angel. First thing my dad said when I told him I'd finally been caught was "should have bought a road angel son, it's kept me out of trouble enough times".

Yeah alright smart arse! Haha. But he's right. Gonna have to invest.

I done one to. The instructor had the cheek to say his car was the only one in the car park that would pass an mot, I could not believe it, however I soon put him right. Not to sure he like my contribution after that.
