Gauges!?

Hello all!

I'm looking at getting a boost gauge and 2 others. Which would be the most important 2 to see from the below:

Oil pressure
Oil Temp
Water temp

The water temp on the dash seems to always just sit at the halfway mark, surely this cant be accurate!

cockneymfc 05 December 2011 06:32 PM

oil pressure and oil temp

Reshard1977 05 December 2011 06:47 PM

Thats what I thought. Cheers!

cockneymfc 05 December 2011 06:49 PM

that what i have in my bug and i think they are the important ones

NOSSY_89 05 December 2011 07:21 PM

As above mate. Don't worry to much about the water temp its good enough.

Reshard1977 05 December 2011 07:24 PM

Cheers guys! I've ordered the prosport oil temp, oil pressure, boost gauge and sandwich plate with connections for the gauges.

Cant wait to get them fitted!!! :-)

Mate avoid the sandwich plate. Its better to use the individual sensors. Its more accurate and isn't prone to some of the other issues people have reported.

Sandwich plate? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

If you are going to have gauges, at least do it right.
Subaru provide all the holes for you to put gauge senders in, why put them somewhere else?

And after you went to the trouble of asking which ones, too..........(walks away shaking head).

you wont need the sandwich plate mate. all the stuff you need is provided with the gauges. As alcazar say's there are better places to put the sensors

What's a sandich plate!

The Pink Ninja 06 December 2011 01:05 PM

Its a plate that fits onto the oil modine then the oil filter goes onto the plate which has 1/8th npt fitting for the sensors,

Or

It's what you eat your sandwiches off

Ok, thanks for the advice guys!! :-)

Wont be using the sandwich plate then!!

If anyone knows of anyone wanting to buy a cheap sandwich plate, which will make your sandwiches taste even better, but also double up as a not very good way to measure oil temp/pressure. Just PM me!!!
