classic cat

Hi people just a quicky where's the cat on my uk turbo, it looks like 1 on the downpipe and 1 in the middle or is that a silencer? I only ask as mines blowing like a errm well its blowing lol but I didn't want to remove the cat in the centre section but if its a silencer ill just by a new centre section cheers for any help

yes one in downpipe and one in centre, you can remove the centre and fit an centre decat
,it wont affect your emmisions as the centre cat does not get hot enough to work efficently anyway.
as long as the front cat and management system is working as per norm then come mot time it will pass even with the new regs come jan 2012

Lovely thanks for the quick reply, would I gain any bhp removing that cat, not that that's why I'm doing it just curious engine management etc completely standard cheers

yes potentially ,cats are very restrictive, having said that i wouldnt remove the front cat too as well without a remap, you will find yourself at 1.1 bar but suffering with boost spikes.
no management issues on a classic removing the centre, expect a slightly louder exhaust if you fit a straight through centre section. :)
