had a 52mm one on mine till it started to leak.so i fitted a standered one and there is no difference at all in engine temp.so the only difference i could see is that the ally one was heavier and i burnt my bleeding hands on it every time i popped the bonnet.i'd have a standered one over an ally one anyday.

The reason i went for an alu rad is that the standard rads looks cheap. I changed the rad in my last car to an alu one and i never had any problems....well my friend owns the car now and he's never had any problems (7years down the line)

I find that if somethings breaks or needs to be replaced, due to ware and tear, i tend to replace that part with an uprated item.

Standard one is fine at over 700bhp.

Just thought aluminum rads were more reliable than the standard items

Did you go for the OEM replacement?

Fitted same one to my classic last week.Be warned if your running a front mount the fan shroud takes a good bit of trimming and even a little bit of the fan blades:lol1:
Adds a bit of bling too:thumb:

standard rads may cool ok but the plastic tanks will crack over time. I prefer my alloy one, looks better too
