That's us - known on www.swapz.co.uk as SwapzTeam

Seems we have mixed reviews from some of you guys, but thankfully more of our members are happy than those who aren't.

Situations like Jolly Green Monster has had don't help anyone - and we'd rather nip them in the bud.

As we discussed with Simon, if this person is causing legal issues we are always happy to share info with legitimate sources or remove listings etc.

We can always be contacted using the HELP link at the top right hand side of the www.swapz.co.uk site. Most messages are replied to within 4 hours during the day and a little longer if received after 9:00pm.

With getting on 400,000 members and several thousand new listings every day you will always get those that try it on - ebay, gumtree etc all suffer from the same.

In the last six months, our level of user's having issues has halved due to new security features we have added to our back end.

Typically it is when users try to "buy" something that seems too good to be true that issues occur. When swapping - specially for cars face to face little can go wrong if you check the other veicle and HPI or similar before swapping.

swapz has not notified anyone regarding this matter.

At this point we removed the offending listing and worked with Jolly Green Monster on it.

Interestingly we have had an account closure request from a user who is named (with a ?) somewhere in this thread claiming their account had been accessed "by a suspicious user". A full cross check of data available to us showed no signs of any access other than one person but did link the account to another!

sonicvr6 22 November 2011 09:11 AM

so why have you not contacred me when i was the one he tryed to rip off ?

So are you saying someone on this forum is involved with the running of this scam? :wonder:

Hi swapzteam please be advised this is not my account and any concerns aim at the number on previous post... I suggest you take a closer look as I received a email from this character a while ago which in turn locked me out of my account titled "parts bought where are my parts" after clicking the link to view what parts they are I was logged out of my account and could not access it with having a family to deal with I didn't think anything of it other than a miss-type !!! As per a conversation with JGM this morning I have advised I have no affiliation with this in any way!!! I can not make myself any clearer on this matter... And as you say you have 400,000 members etc I have contacted you guys on numerous occasions regarding scam/fake emails etc with zero reply....I am currently waiting for my computer to be returned and once it is I will be posting a few emails to prove otherwise on the password change and the email I received from this scoobyworld... As per before any emails from my account please contact my number as above as they are and will NOT be from me.... As per my request yesturday I am still waiting information and a reply from you guys at swapz as per email any info will be appreciated thanks

Just to clarify - having checked - there is nothing to have locked you out of your account in any way as the password has been verified by the Security Team as remaining unchanged.

An email has been sent to your personal email account asking for further information.
