Excuse my ignorance but, I want to fit an exhaust that will help give an increase in horse power, I have heard that by fitting a de-catted exhaust I will gain more but will probably fail any emission test, my questions are what are the better exhaust systems ( I had been thinking of a scoobysport or revolution system) and if I get a de-catted one how much of a pain is it to re-fit the cat for a test? Hope someone can help.

One popular option is to leave the downpipe cat in place, then it will pass the MOT no probs.

I have a Scoobysport system on my 97 sti it know sounds as good as it goses,my M.O.T was due last week and yes it failed on emisions so I spoke to Pete at Scoobysports and I had thier double cat centre section fitted, which takes 10 mins max and it passed no problem, back to scoobysports and we swapped centre sections and I went home. Thanks to Paul and the Lads.
