log book issues

just bought a v5 sti wagon and the log books says.
model: subaru impreza sti 22b type uk
colour: gold
well its silver not a 22b and not a type uk!
anyone else got few issues with there log book lol

Does the VIN and engine numbers all match up with the V5?

serega 15 November 2011 09:58 AM

I had a problem with my logbook as well, altough not as extreme, if you vin code is correct then you can solve this quite easily. Give your VIN number to subaru UK and ask them to send you a letter of the car specification with Subaru UK stamp and signatures.

You will then need to fill out field #7 ( Changes to your current vehicle) in your V5 and send subaru's letter and your V5 to DVLA.

It can cause some serious problems with the police if you dont take care of this and it's not a joke, i wonder how you just bought a car like this.

What did it come back as when you HPI'd it?

vc_1985 15 November 2011 10:31 AM

Make SUBARU
Model IMPREZA 22B-STI TYPE UK
Colour GOLD
thats what it comes up with yes vin plate matches log book

vc_1985 15 November 2011 10:37 AM

hpi came up with

subaru impreza 22b-sti 2.0
then the vin
no colour changes not stolen not scrapped

dj219957 15 November 2011 10:40 AM

mine says impreza 2.0R. I have a 93wrx. It makes no differences so long as you insure it properly.
I would correct the colour with them though.

vc_1985 15 November 2011 10:42 AM

i have a traders policy so makes no difference, just a bit odd to be sooooo wrong!

juggers 15 November 2011 10:44 AM

Nothing unusual there fella imported quite a few cars and what ever you put down on the form is what they will print on the logbook.

vc_1985 15 November 2011 10:50 AM

mine must be quite rare then ha ha hmm wonder if i should ebay it and see what people say ha ha!

Ryan@Indigo-GT 15 November 2011 10:53 AM

You will need to correct the colour, that could draw attention from the Police, they stopped a mate of mine for that a few years back, no real issue, they just wanted to make sure the car wasn't stolen or cloned.

My log book for my Type R just listed it as a Subaru Coupe!

vc_1985 15 November 2011 11:12 AM

will correct the colour and get a letter from subaru so can sorrect the rest would rather have it all correct

his-n-her-scoobs 15 November 2011 02:09 PM

One of mine is on the log book as a 2.0 GL but has the VIN no. of an early JDM STI Wagon
