as said i drive the things but it only takes a pipe to burst or a pin not too lock in right and its a long way down.

A burst pipe shouldnt effect it they should have rupture/check valves on them, but the locking pins will be under some major strain which would have me nipping a bit.

I would never of thought they would of had the lift capacity to lift themselves like that on all 3 pivot points.

yes you would have check valves in the main lift rams but not sure if they are fitted to the dipper arm or bucket ram ????

if you look close its got a set a "claws" that hold onto a bar right in close to the cab mate
