Yep,
Though the differences between the STI and the STI prodrive are cosmetic, the differences between the STI and WRX are extensive, a few -

More powerful engine in the STI
Brembo brakes all round on the STI (crap subaru brakes on the WRX)
6 speed closer ratio gear box on the STI
Different front lights
Front diff on the STI
Different suspension & wider wheels on the STI

There are 3 differences Price, handling and performance.
Then you have to consider are you going to keep it as it comes out the Box?? how much are you going to spend on upgrades !!!

WRX £20K
STi7 £26K
STi7 P/D £27.5K
some may argue WRX 218bhp + £4K P/D performance, handling and Brake Packs would be better than STi7
Sti7 has 6 speed better handling and brakes than Std WRX
The P/Drive STi7 261bhp is + £1.5K for cosmetics so buy Std STi7 use the £1.5K on PPP 300Bhp!! Maybe

IMHO
You pays your money etc.etc.

Litchfield imports sell WRX's for 17k according to the website (extras will put the price up) . That makes the WRX the true peoples sports car don't see how every second car in the country isn't a scooby at that price.
