can anyone give me a price of a second hand full system HKS? want to know what prices..... know someone selling one. not too sure which one it is and don't know how to tell the difference.

I would recommend you look at both pipes before making a decision, have listed some points for you to consider before you even put one on the car

hks downpipe
1. Its cheap
2. Its a nasty silver painted thing
3. Its opening at the turbo end is only about 60% of the face of the opening, meaning it would certainly appear to be a lot more restrictive than scoobysport (or scoobymania)
4. Its VERY noisy on the car

scoobysport
1. its more expensive
2. Its stainless
3. Its surface area at the turbo end has a larger 'hole' and therefore much less restrictive than the above
4. Its fairly quiet compared to the above

I've never had a scoobymania downpipe so can't comment on that, twin dumps also prove very popular. These have a huge opening at the turbo end and a seperate tube for wastegate gasses which join the main downpipe further down rather than letting the mix at the top of the downpipe like the hks and scoobysport pipe.

The scoobysport one is 'probably' the more popular item, the twin dumps to my mind make a great deal of sense, though im yet to be convinved by them on the road and dyno.

hope that helps.

I had an HKS job, its better than standard unit, but still has a plate blocking the wastegate exit.

I have since moved to a 3inch scoobysport job, the difference between HKS & SS is bigger than standard to HKS imho.

I should have gone SS first but at least I have compared.

Do it you wont regret it.

TSL do a twin dump DP as well. Having seen one, quality certainly seems very good.

I had the SM full system, very pleased with it indeed!!

ive been researching this for a few week and ended up going for a TSL 'open neck' similiar to the SS.

didnt fancy the twin dumps cos although it separates the gas flows as first, as soon as they meet mid way down the pipe they are travalling a two different speeds so you dont get a smooth flow.

hks = No (for the reasons listed above)

Andi,
