It seems more people are going rotated these days.

Aside from the staggering power outputs of these cars, the engine bay always looks very dramatic.

Here are some of my fav's, please post yours, and details if you wish. :thumb:

Some of these images do not belong to me and will be removed if the owners wish me to do so

Looks like she could use a new filter james :)

Anger 07 November 2011 07:06 PM

Coming off the road this month for its next round of mods and weight loss programme :D

Will try to clean the bay up and replace a few bits at the same time Frayz :)

frayz 07 November 2011 07:11 PM

Ive been looking at the universal cones from the AEM dryflow range. They have an internal cage to prevent collapsing like yours has done. I think all the K&Ns will do it over time.

Interested to see what you do with it mate, any hints as to what plans you have? Always been fond of your car :)

A truly unique car that changed the rules on the scene. Always loved it. :thumb:

what sort of turbo size etc are we talking here in order to go down this route??

Lots of names here - too many to say well done individually - but thank you - certainly food for thought and some truely lovely looking engine bays.... :)

frayz 07 November 2011 08:02 PM

Rotated setups usually start with A GT30. Normally a GT3076R. Anything smaller and a bolt on will be much more cost effective.

To be honest, there are some truly staggering results being done by stock location turbos these days. Largely by Scooby Clinics billet versions.

However i dont think that any bolt on performs quite like a rotated setup, and most of the tuners will probably agree with that.

Thats just it Matt, theyre all so bespoke and custom that no 2 are the same.
I love seeing how different people have done things when doing rotated builds, ive took alot of inspiration from many different setups when doing mine, and also did quite a few things my own way too.

Indeed Merv,

Theres almost £250 in the air filter, trumpet and hose before you even get to the turbo, exhaust pipework, wastegate custom intercooler pipework etc etc. Theres alot to be said for a bolt on lol.

mervil 07 November 2011 09:47 PM

Well I'll need a 76mm inlet hose anyway and they're about £200! The turbo I want is about £1300 from the US so will be saving a considerable amount staying stock location! :)
