Jura your crazy dude your always changing spec :D

jura11 04 November 2011 12:41 AM

Blouch and Scoobyclinic SC are same turbos, difference between these two is just exhaust housing Blouch using 8cm/10cm and Scoobyclinic using 7cm.

SC50 is Blouch Dominator 3.0XT-R
SC46 is Blouch Dominator 2.5XT-R Polka Pickle
SC42 is Blouch Dominator 1.5XT-R
SC40 is Blouch 20GXT Billet
etc.

so am i thinking a blouch would be better than sc46 for a 2.5 since its 8cm ? iam using a 20g with 8cm since i was told thats better than 7cm

7cm vs 8cm its almost no difference, difference between the 7/8cm to 10cm will make difference in spool or Top end power.

Smaller cm exhaust housing is better spool, higher cm exhaust housing slightly worse spool but you will gain on top end and you will make more power.

Blouch Dominator 4.0XT-R,but out is now 5.0XT-R which probably largest stock location turbo, its based on 35R core

Jura

chrisdicko 04 November 2011 01:52 AM

I thought the SC54 was based the the 35 core?

Cheers BTW :)

When Pat mapped mine, he said he thought it was based on the 35 core....but he didn't sounds 100% I don't think.

Maybe,i don't know and i'm not sure in this. You have 3" inlet or 2.4" inlet?

SC54 is largest in scoobyclinic range of turbos and Blouch have largest 5.0XT-R which is 620bhp rated turbo, but this bhp too optimistic, maybe 560-580bhp,but still don't think will make this power.

I have the 3" inlet.

I got 520 from the SC54, but my injectors maxed out, so there is more to come when I put the ID1000's in.

620 sounds too much, but don't the american boys quote different figures to us anyway? As in calculate it slightly different?

520bhp from SC54 is almost bang on money, but with ID1000;s hope so you will do more, this has been just on V-power or V-power plus meth?

In USA yes using wheel power, but this quote from Blouch:

Here is difference between the 2.4" inlet and 3" inlet on Dom 3.0XT-R

http://efilogics.com/customer/Produc...s/allthree.jpg

And i forgot to add,Blouch Dominator 5.0XT-R is only available as external gated,4.0XT-R is last from Blouch which is internally gated

It was just on V-Power mate. Next stage is fitting the injectors and upgrading the fuel pump wiring, as Pat did mention he thinks that affects things occasionally so is a good/cheap way of solving any issue there.

Good info there too mate ^^

Great number for V-power only, with injectors you will have more headroom, plus fuel pump

Good luck matey:thumb:

Thanks mate.

Just got to save up for the next mapping session :) I will be doing a 20% meth mix too, so hopefully that will show some good numbers too.

Sorry to regurgitate this post but I'm curious if anyone has tried the 3" inlet 1.5xtr with the 10cm housing?

Apostle 29 July 2018 10:37 PM

Not quite

I’ve run the “polka pickle” XTR 2.5 8cm on the 2.4” inlet on a 2.5 and now a 2.3. Made 480 and 470 respectively @ 1.65 bar. Great road car turbo with good early spool.

The 3” inlet IIRC only really makes a little difference when you’re running 550+

Youve got to weigh it all up- like the 10cm casing gains maybe 20-30bhp but loses 400-500rpm spool. By the time you get to use it it’s all over.

NB. When Enginetuner fitted mine it was noted that it needed a bit grinding off the casing to fit nicely and that it was slightly diff to the many SC 46 units they have fitted. Blouch we’re developing a 7cm cast of their own which was supposed to give the power of the 8cm with even better spool.

For sn honest opinion ringvthem direct for a chat. Blouch that is ✅.
