dump valve silicon blue hose, can i used it elswhere?

hi i bought a big old length of the silicone hose for the dump valve (you know the small hose that connects to the top most of the times) ca i use thise hose elsewhere, like over the left hand side of the egine where the smaller pipes are? (im a noob at engine so im not sure what parts i mean) but if the pipe looks the same size etc is it safe?

Cheers J.

also its pretty strong pipe, blue colour. :)

yes,if it the really small stuff then its only vacuum pipe.

the ones on the left are radiator hoses mate of the expansion tasnk so dont use it on them as they get a bit warm and on mine they are braided

99jdee 03 November 2011 07:32 PM

okay so if its not braided and fits it should be ok? :) just i have a big lenght of it left like 4 3 meteres of it, thought what cn i do with it to spruce the engine bay up? lol

oh btw yer i know what you mean by the radiator pipe things, i wont do them with this, its to small anyway :)

99greenwagon 03 November 2011 07:36 PM

you can replace all/most of the vacuum pipe with it.

djandyg 03 November 2011 07:46 PM

It will be fine for vacuum pipes as said. Beware aware that some vacuum pipe will have a 'restrictor pill' in them IIRC, so make sure thats transferred

mickywrx 03 November 2011 08:46 PM

You can use it all over, replacing like for like; BUT, as mentioned don't use it to replace any of the coolant pipes to the header tank.

I replaced the washer pipes with silicon pipe. ;)
