As a paraglider pilot myself I might have seen that a few times over the last few days. We had something similar here in Spain with a Vulture in lines, didn't bring the wing down but the vulture slid down the lines and started ripping at the pilot! He managed to land - bleeding - and kill it, alright I made up the killing piece.

Myself I've had my wing collapsed by Condors in Argentina plucking at it from above. They were big buggers.

Bloody birds, mad at us for flying as well as them:mad:

We ought to start killing birds that walk about on the ground...........

Only joking, fellow bird-lovers:D

Fascinating story.

We were doing a low level navigation leg in a Vulcan in Italy once and we were in a mountaineous area. We were approaching a sharply defined ridge when a large bird appeared, probably an eagle of some kind, and it was flying straight at us. I turned to miss it but the bird turned too and was actually threatening the aircraft. Couldn't believe it was prepared to take on a large aircraft in its territory. I had to turn hard and climb to avoid it!
