newage standard FMIC recirculation valve adapter plate

i know harvey sells these, excuse me if this is a noob question but how does the adapter plate fix to the standard recirc valve? is it bolted together? therefore do you need the bolts and a gasket or do these normally come with the adapter?

You'll need something like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Subaru...item1c1cd7731b

I got a cheaper one a while back, but can't find it on ebay.

You will also need a small silicon pipe to connect to the fmic pipe. Here's mine

Hope this helps mate

cheers gez thats very helpful!

barnshaw 23 October 2011 12:39 PM

did you get the bolts with the adapter gez?

GezP 23 October 2011 12:57 PM

No mate, just used some I had lying around. You can get them from halfords or any local mechanical store.

Forgot to mention, I made a gasket up to go between them. Just eBay gasket card, think I used 0.8 thick. Dead simple to make, just draw around the outside and holes and cut away.

Let us know how u get on mate

alright Gez, got some blanking plugs through today to give that a go and tried it with the DV blanked off, the car drove MUCH better then with the APS recirc valve currently on!

probably will keep it this way (going in for mapping tomorrow so will make sure all running well) , turbo is an SR40 ball bearing so should be ok for the job, when it goes it goes i guess :)

GezP 25 October 2011 12:54 PM

hello mate, have you just blanked the pipe?

barnshaw 25 October 2011 01:19 PM

yea, blanked off the hose from FMIC with 32mm plug and then the hose from turbo inlet with a 35mm plug and then bunged up the vacuum, drives so much better and throttle response is noticably increased, plus it sounds pretty good aswell

GezP 25 October 2011 01:22 PM

Ok mate, I thought you were gonna put the original rec/valve back on.

I'm not sure if thats wise just blanking it off mate, I think it can cause long term damage to your turbo. I'm not 100% sure on this mate, I would double check this. Don't want screwing up your set up mate.

Glad you got it sorted though mate

barnshaw 25 October 2011 01:27 PM

yea i know it can have negative effect and decrease life, but it drives better, if it goes then it goes i guess!
