MY 99 Rear shoes and discs onto a MY98 ?

I have an MY99 Classic with Brembos fitted - direct fit and no adapter required. I want to put the Brembos on an MY98 so will need the adapter and larger shoes sold by Godspeed.

Just wondering if I can take the shoes and the back plate they are fitted to, from the MY99 and fit onto the MY98 - plus the larger disc of course. If so, can I keep the existing central hub with wheel studs in place ?.

Thanks for advice.

Best person the answer this is either Ian Godney at Godspeed, or Alyn at AS Performance.

I'd send both a PM.

If you have them fitted straight on with no brackets , you must have the larger 180 STI or Type R axle fitted , you cannot fit the handbrake shoes from the 180 axle to fit on the smaller 160 axle , if you could I wouldn't have had to come up with the idea of the specially made thicker handbrake shoes.

You will need the mounting bracket kit and thicker shoes to fit them on , or the mounting bracket kit and the discs we now do with the steel inserts to reduce the handbrake size so you can retain the standard sized shoes

Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian - looks like I will be placing an order with you :-)

I assumed you would not be selling the brackets just for fun, but wanted to fully understand my options as I have both cars/axles to hand.

Thanks,
Keith.
