FAO Budgie, Wiley & other running 9.5s

Hey guys just wondering what offsets your wheels are? I'm lookingg at a set of 18x9.5s for mine, but the offset is 35, which I think may be a bit too low.
Any ideas how much work they'll be to fit?
Thanks

Rey

P.S. Don't worry I'm not getting Grids ;)

Anger 17 October 2011 12:30 PM

35 with rolled lips on my old set of Grids, i now have 9x18's et20 without stretched tyres

R6HNN 17 October 2011 12:50 PM

Sounds promising!! Do you have any pics? I'm currently running 18x8 with a 225/40/18, ET35 and the rear tyres are kissing the lips more than a badman from peckham.

Hi Rey
I am using ET30 on the rear and 38 on the front
Hope that helps
Feel free to come over and test fit if you want
Peter

Thanks budgie, what tyre sizes are you running? Are you arches rolled or flared? And also have you had to run a high negative camber?

I'm sold on the grids for my white bugeye now, what did you do with the Sti spoiler in the pic mate?

Ray, any clues as to what wheels you are looking at :wonder:

Anger 17 October 2011 08:23 PM

They also look good but I do prefer the more aggressive 9.5 inch grids. Were you running coilovers as well as having the lips rolled?

Anger 17 October 2011 08:32 PM

Yeah Tein super streets and just the rears rolled at this stage, now the car mainly lives on track ive had the fronts done with 3 degrees camber on the front

martin850 17 October 2011 08:38 PM

Great, thanks for the info mate :thumb:

I hope it helps you as well Rey, sorry for the slight thread highjack :thumb:

ET38 all round for me, although i'm running a bit stretched at 225/35/18
i (garage)cut my arch lips (sounds gay lol) as close the outer panel/wing, and didnt rub much tbh
only when i dropped it another 2-3 inches then it had a bit of rub.
these are my future wheels hopefully. works emotion xd9s 18 x 10

Hah in which case I'm the quickest, currently running an 8! Lol
I'm not going to mention what wheels I'm getting, just in case it all falls through. I'll have the wheels by this week, but will need to save up for tyres and arch rolling. Turbo fitting and remap have been put on hold for now

R6HNN 18 October 2011 02:53 PM

Anyone have any experience of 215/45/18s on a 18x9.5 rim?

martin850 18 October 2011 03:20 PM

215 would be to narrow for a 9.5 I would of thought mate.

M444GY 18 October 2011 03:32 PM

ive stretched 215s on a 9.5 :thumb: you can run et 35 but stretching will be needed

R6HNN 18 October 2011 03:57 PM

maggs is 215/45/18 on a 9.5 a "safe" stretch? i dont want them popping off if i drift round a roundabout at 500mph...

R6HNN 19 October 2011 02:45 PM

not to worry, ive found a set of my all time favourite wheels in 18x8.5 ET30... which i think would look shweeeeeeet on my car!

Budgie 19 October 2011 04:03 PM

anti climax:lol:

R6HNN 19 October 2011 04:25 PM

hah budgie have i let you down? I'll probably change them again after winter anyway, i just didnt fancy the thought of protecting a set of polished rims through winter!
