Neutral Position Switch - Again

Is there a certain technique to removing the NPS?

As my car is at my friends garage, and he said he just cannot access the switch, at all and there is no way he would get a spanner on to it.

He's tried removing the engine stabiliser/pitch mount, dropped the gear box cradle, and even disconnected the gear leaver from inside the car.

Any other tips please? As he's really struggling!!

It's a 6 speed box.

Thanks a lot

on my 5 speed we managed quite easily without removing anything, wouldnt have thought the 6 speed was any different tbh

tbh,if hes dropped the box and still carnt fit it i would take it somewere else.it took me 45 mins from start to finish to fit mine and i hadnt done one before.with the box lowered slightly you can get your arm across the top of the box to undo the switch and fit the new one.

The 5 speed one is more accessible I think?

My mate is a decent guy, but not to sure why he's struggling really.

the 6 speed is a total pain and different to the 5 speed....... Seem to have done the right things though in dropping down the engine/gearbox..

I'm sure there was something on here a bout 4 weeks ago. I'll have a search

Where abouts are you Arf? Might be worth a day trip out :)

its possible and your friend has done everything he can to get access he just needs to use a stubby spanner and ram his hand in, either that or as others have said take it somewhere else.
