New member needing help
Hi all, I'm Nige, 33 from sunny Stoke lol.
So I've had a fair few Turbos but never a Scooby. So I've seen an X plate Wagon, silver with white Solberg rep wheels just in case anyone on here knows it. It's done 95k and got some some mods, pro drive stage one map, pro drive down pipe and system, mahle pistons. Firstly what kind of power could this be running, and I haven't seen the service history yet so what kind of mileage should belts be done and plugs be done and with the nature of the engine " Boxer " are they an expensive do. Also what kind of power can the standard crank ( which non scoob owners call chocolate crank ) and clutch take. Sorry for questions but I always find joing the club forums is always the best place to start as they know it all and I do like this Wagon and never had one before. Cheers Nige |
hi mate, standard prodrive pack is likely to have around 260bhp and should have a prodrive larger intercooler with it. This is a popular upgrade for cars made from 97-2001 as its a plug in/bolt on option because the ECU's on cars of this year are limited on mapping options.
Standard crank on an MY00 (X reg like mine) can handle up to 350bhp then the reliability is "variable" after that. Some will say it can take more, others less, but 350 is usually the quoted figure. Standard clutch can handle the 300's but an Exedy stage 1 would give better results. Before you ask, to take it to the 300+ power level you will need the following Walbro 255 fuel pump 3 port boost solenoid Full de-cat exhaust system Panel filter VF34 or 35 Turbo from an Sti ECUTek remap, the only map available for 99-2001 Classics I'm running 336/300 with these mods plus front mount intercooler and full induction kit. |
Thanks for the reply, I know its got the fuel pump aswell but nothing else so a least I know it should be in the " safe " area as such with power.
Having another look on Wednesday so hopefully fingers crossed lol. Thanks again. Nige |
