RT 26 April 2002 12:52 AM

MY00 220HP GC8 WRX to
E46 BMW 320Ci (for 4 mths) to
MY01 JDM STI RA.

:):)

Couldn't take the "refinement", poor power and numb drive of the Ultimate.

chuckster 26 April 2002 08:18 AM

MY99 PPP to audi S4, ughhh, 6 months later in MY01 WRX, ugghh (IMHO) 6 months later now I have a MY02 S3 and rate it higher as a complete package. If I could have got a brand new MY99 PPP I would have preferred that to the WRX and the S3 though :(
(As an out and out drivers car I rate the MY99, then the WRX and S3 equally, and the S4 last - but our 22B outshines em all :) IMVHO)

hay chuck, i take it by my99 your refering to a jap spec?
Had some dude in an rs turbo slag my my99 (ulk spec) as it was not a jap spec. ( :) i recon i got 240bhp out of it now with the dawes)

Osama Mc Donalds 26 April 2002 11:46 AM

I had a MY99 Standard UK Spec Impreza
Then moved to a MY01 P1 which was a great all round car :)

Now own a MY02 Evo 7 :D and all I can say is that the Evo is far better than any car I have owned.

The Subaru's are quick yes but they looked like a 1.2 litre engine compaired to the Evo ;). I could never go back to a Impreza never.

Ask any Evo owner who used to have an Impreza with a few mods I now have at least 340 BHP very few Imprezas could ever keep up :D.

On my 4th Scoob now (STi7) in 5 years. Every time I have had at least 1 other car between Scoobs, sometimes 2. Dont know why?

Must confess original MY97 was good and current car V.good but hated MY01 with mods.

Had a DBM MY99, SS Exhaust and Mim alloys. Well balanced motor, lovely to drive on the SO2s. Dire top end though, used to taper off in fifth.

Moved to a P1, awesome, smooth power delivery. Loads of torque, lovely echaust note on the way to 8000 revs. But it fell to bits, front spoiler lip, rattled like a maracca inside and the gear box failed twice (in 6 months) And understeered worse than my MY99, but i think that was the god awful pirellis.

So I swapped for an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen. Different league. Awesome, hard, stunning, wide, Black, evil... I ain't coming back. But I have some very fond memories of my Scoobies, loved 'em both.

Had an MY98 UK Scoob (terzo) swapped it for a 550bhp R33... Funilly enough I'm not missing the Impreza yet. :D

InsBro 26 April 2002 03:38 PM

I ve just sold my second Scooby A MY00 with major mods (290+bhp)

I've replaced it with a Evo 6, which I'm modifying at the moment, its about 330bhp at the moment.

I do miss the exhaust note of ths Scooby!

Just sold UK300 now have ordered a Caterham R300(superlight).
Drove one and for me found it much more fun, which is what driving should be about.

Not in weather like todays Terry! (Rain and Drizzle) :(

catflap 26 April 2002 04:37 PM

I want to venture down the same path as terry. Although the scoob is a fantastic car, its not as fun as my bike was even at slower speeds on my bike. This is what driving is about to me...fun. Looking to sell up the scoob within a year and move to the a westi or similar.

Scoob is awsome fun though :)

Tractor 26 April 2002 06:03 PM

OK, I'm gonna break this supposed Evo trend Osama ;) Sti2 Type RA (nuts) to unmodded Sti 3 (lovely) to modded 320 Bhp Lancer Evo 4 (boring, no soul, and frankly ridiculously bad fuel consumption) to lightly modded Sti 4 Type R (fecking awesome!!). Even an Evo couldn't keep me away from Scoobs. I might have a different opinion if I now drove an Evo 6 or 7, but who knows? Still think they're a little too clinical. Kind of like the difference between a modern Alfa and BMW. Imprezas push my emotional buttons better than the rather synthetic Evo I had.
