imo the sti spoiler sets it off, have seen some sweet despoilerd but not my cup of tea

Pramas 24 September 2011 12:21 AM

was told as well ( maybe total bollocks) but the sti spoiler is 1 of the few that actually work once going fast, the vane work under 30mpg, then the spoiler takes over

Worth having a browse around the gallery maybe. There've been a few over the years. IMO the classic can look a bit girly or rounded in the rear without a spoiler. A bit like a mini-Omega. I've seen minor bootlip spoilers done and the usual bootlid and lower/earlier bootlid spoilers. Some of the best despoilered or "clean" looks I've come across are over the pond on NASIOC. They fit FMIC, a non-turbo bonnet and despoiler for a clean/sleeper look.

im very familiar with de spoilering subarus iv done it on most iv owned im just not 100 percent sure on this 1 personally with this spoiler looks a bit ott for the road and im not a massive fan of the oem sti spoiler, im not sure which way to jump

Scooby David 24 September 2011 08:59 AM

I was about to jump on here and say 'noooo' leave the spoiler, but looking at your pics it might just work. I think the car will look good either way.

Why dont you unbolt the spoiler and post some more pics up?

I like spoilerless tbh. Iff you race in time attack you need downforce otherwise your just creating drag. Shame about the holes it leaves in the boot though, can,t you just plug em with rubber plugs? Or are you a perfectionist?lol

adam knight 24 September 2011 10:28 AM

yeah i know exactly what your saying the idea when i bought the car was to have that time attack look but as i walk out to the car every day im thinking is this a bit ott just want to tone it down a little. and also put my own stamp on it as its someone elses project. yeah id have to get a new carbon boot and sell both the spoiler and boot as an item im a bit if a perfectionist when it comes to things like that need to get the front bumper sprayed asap too
does anyone know where i can get a carbon boot at a decent price i see japspeed used to do them but cant get hold of them

craigwrx277 24 September 2011 10:46 AM

If you do go spoilerless how much for ya spoiler....

adam knight 24 September 2011 10:50 AM

i prob will be going spoilerless mate but id have to sell both together as there is holes in the boot to fix spoiler the boot is a seibon 670 new and the spoiler is carbon buddy club 350 new id sell both for £500

craigwrx277 24 September 2011 11:23 AM

Probably out my price range as the boot needs to be with it. Plus my missus would kick me in the balls if she knew id spent 500 on a spoiler and boot lid :). Ive got a sti6 spoiler in primer that i could sell tho.

adam knight 24 September 2011 11:41 AM

have a think about it bud there in very good condition and the mrs dont have to know if i can find another carbon boot at a decent price i may be able to lower the price a little
