hi guys what woundering what your thoughts are on that engine flush you put in where the oil goes and run it then drane it off anygood ? cheers:thumb:

i wouldnt put an engine flush near an engine unless i knew the history of the engine, sometimes it can do worse than good, especially high miler engines

saying that i used Forte engine flush on my wee mk2 golf 16v which is great stuff,can only buy as trade or on ebay

I've used engine flush on mine when it was 100k. Didn't do it any harm. That was about 3 years ago. It's the luck of the draw. Sole people use it and it makes their engine sound like a bag of spanners.

I think some people have had a disaster with engine flushes for one reason or another, the more knowledgeable will be along to advise properly.

There is no need to flush the engine and flushing can be harmful. What can happen is the flush can loosen harmless deposits in the engine, but then not remove them. Your new oil goes in and after it gets warm and is flowing nicely, the bits which are loosened come off into the oil, so you end up with hard bits floating around in your oil - the last thing you want. If you really want to flush the oil system, the best thing you can do is drain out the oil that is in there, put in some basic mineral oil and run the car for a few days so the oil gets the chance to clean out the system. After running it, drain out the mineral oil and put in the correct oil.

Also, before running the flush, loosen and retighten the filter and sump nut, you dont want to be driving around too much with the flush still in the motor because you couldnt drain it all.
