new to scoobynet
hello ive just bought my first scooby at 33 better late then never! its an 05 wrx blobeye 62000 miles, i know the engine service is every 10000 miles but what is the diff oil service miles.also mine has the ppp so im right in saying it has 260bhp and the turbo will go to 300bhp so what would be a better turbo upgrade as i would like to do a few mods. cheers

I know nothing about that model, but welcome to Scoobynet, get some pics up in the members gallery mate :thumb:
p.s. modding is a slippery slope ;) |
Hi. I to have just bought MY03STI ppp, I'm 37 and like you say, better late than never. Ha mine 3 weeks and already spent hundreds on it. A few mods and I have 328 bhp on the standard turbo. With a few more mods I'm hoping to see the other side of 350.
I am by no means the best to answer you questions but I assure you, you are in the right place to get answers. :-) Think most will say handling mods first, then power. But, WELCOME. Get ready to be skint. |
wellcome mate :thumb: post some photos out,

Here is an example of a newage service schedule , its done in miles or months .

For turbos look for a VF34 or VF35 off a newage STI

I have the same car as you, owned it over 5 years now. With 3" decatted Milltek exhaust, STI pinks, decatted up pipe, Walbro fuel pump and VF35, its running a reliable 312.1 bhp on the standard WRX intercooler.
My advice is brakes first. The WRX standard setup is ats its limits with PPP. A decent set of slotted discs with DS2500 or EBC Bluestuff pads along with braided hoses and DOT 5.1 should see the brakes sorted. 22 /24 mm Whiteline ARB with solid droplinks at the rear, followed by a fast road geometry setup will transform the handling and reduce the inherent understeer. If you decide to lower, don't go more than 25 to 30mm, but do this before the geometry is reset. Welcome to Scoobynet |
Welcome to SNet :D

cheers for the advice, it needs a service so ill get that done first and its done 62000miles so cam belt to as theres no proof in the service book, anywhere i could get a decent cam belt kit tensioners and waterpump as ill do it all together , and wheres the best place to get my service items, cheers.
