Help with PS3 60 gig please.

What happens is, when i play a blu ray film the screen goes grey & choppy. The games are fine, no probs at all. What could it be ???.Anyone had the same problem ???. Could it be dust or faulty drive maybe.

Are u using hdmi or scart.

mine went like that, sent it off 3 times to be fixed, supposed to be laser going, ended up getting a new one,

I was using a scart lead. Now using hdmi & it's fine.Could be connection at fault.

You can't watch a HD film over scart :/

you can it'll just be downscaled

ScooByer Trade 12 September 2011 08:33 PM

The games are blu ray & can be downscaled i think.Perhaps the films can't.I'll see how it goes.

If your laser was gone, it wouldnt play a dvd, blue ray dvd or a game.
So dont think its that.

Change back to your scart or if u have another hdmi, try that first and see what happens.

It seems like the scart lead is a dud.I tried swapping with an hdmi lead, it works perfect with that. The screen only goes grey/choppy when i press play, with a scart lead in.The XMB is fine ( PS3 menu ).Nah i don't download blu ray films DOHC.

Hello guys, i got YLOD a few days ago.Anyone here with technical knowledge, of what it could be ?.I left it in the loft, if that helps. Also the screen went grey and choppy whilst using a scart lead.I was playing blu-ray films.
