I'm going down to Powerstation to get my wonderful bumpsteer geometry re-checked :D And probably get the ARB's done as well :)

Problem is it was a year ago that I last went down there and I've forgotten the route. No, not the easy route;) but last year I asked if there were any decent driving roads nearby and I'm sure I got a good response. Buggered if I can find the thread though.

So does anyone know of any?

I'll be coming from London BTW

Ian Watkins I hope you're reading this :D

Thanks

Justin :)

I just go M40/A40 all the way. The first half is boring but gets you to Oxford quite quickly, the second half is very fast and fantastic fun and get's you to Cheltenham in no time at all ;):D

Matt :)

P.S. I like going on a Sat morning arriving for 9am and get the A40 all to myself ;););):D:D:D:D:D

I'm with Matt on this one, A40 is fantastic, and it helps to show the changes that the bumpsteer will have made, trust me!

Keep your eye out for the speed cameras down the A40 though!

longun 25 April 2002 02:42 PM

Yea think there is about two left all the others have been torn down.... Must have been catching a few people to get a resoponse like that.....

Most of the road is 60 but there are two cameras just before duel carrage way and they maybe 50....

ChownsScooby 25 April 2002 02:48 PM

Most of the speed cameras on the A40 have gone now apart from the one just outside oxford (over the brow of the railway bridge) and the ones after the roundabout near Northleach. Otherwise as you guys say as long as there is not too much traffic the A40 is great for driving. If you fancy something a little twistier after you have been to Powerstation head out into the Forest of Dean on the A40. Turn off the A40 at Huntley (where I grew up!) on the A4136 through Mitcheldean to Monmouth. Before you cross the river in Monmouth turn left down the A466 and follow the River Wye down the Wye Valley which is some of the best twisty yet flowing roads you are ever likely to drive (except for the Derbyshire and yorkshire Dales). When you get to Chepstow you can then either drive back up the A48 to Gloucester or cross the Severn Bridge getting off the M4 at J18 and following the A433 through to Cirencester and back to the A40, or just blast back up the M4 to London. Take my advice, the trip into the Forest is well worth the detour!! Enjoy

Yea get your ass down to the forest that will put your bumpsteer to the test......

I live in the forest a small vilage called yorkley....

Some of the best roads are round there however they get very busy with old people and familys going out as the area is very nice and full of cycle tracks.....

Cheers and Enjoy....

If you go to the Forest, just make sure you get out before darkness falls;):D

Personally, I would come in on the M4 and A417/9 Cirencester way.

I live in the Forest

Hence why I have two Subarus. The roads are just fantastic. Hardly any traffic too, by comparison, especially in the evenings.
