Painting Inlet manifold

Had it off stripped and clean and shiney :D

Does it need to be done with high temp paint :wonder:

And any recommendations as to colour and method.

namron 09 September 2011 05:55 PM

Be different leave it shiny .

ditchmyster 09 September 2011 05:59 PM

I am very tempted and would prefer this but it will go dull unless i have it polished.

namron 09 September 2011 06:02 PM

Better than unsightly flakey red paint as you see on some.

ditchmyster 09 September 2011 06:16 PM

Yes mine was one of those, but not now :D

MattyB1983 09 September 2011 06:23 PM

Glow in the dark green.
Go on, it would be a one off.

And no you won't need high temp paint, just don't be shy when applying paint.

ditchmyster 09 September 2011 06:36 PM

Hmmm, glow in the dark :wonder: i like green as well :D

Thanks for the high temp heads up :thumb:

Just need some other colour options, iv'e been thinking gold might look good

Samco blue looks nice and was planning on a full samco hose set, just not sure if it might be a bit too much blue under the bonnet.

Any pics of it on the car.

Gold,,,,,, I quite like the thought of that.

Yeh i'm really leaning towards gold now, as the wheels are gold and i do like to be different, wish my mate still had his gold plating machine, now that would look seriously cool gold plated inlet manifold..:D

Thanks for the pics.

It's not an Impreza but here's what I did with my old GTI-R.

Was completely standard when I got it and I wanted to be a bit different.

Loving the blue mate, what colour code is it and is it hi-temp?

ditchmyster 13 September 2011 07:42 PM

Thanks matty just pulled the thread back and saw your pics, i did it in gold today as it happens found some chrome style gold paint so it looks like real gold, mega bling and looking good, they also have chrome and i'm thinking about doing the block, heads and cam covers while it's in bits might as well :D

MattyB1983 13 September 2011 08:59 PM
