Hello all. Newby to the world of Scobby

Hi all. Bought MY03STI ppp at last, my first Scobby and already love it. I am very new to all this and even being a member of a forum like this. So I apologise if this is in the wrong place.
My car has a few mods but as always I'll be after a bit more bhp, maybe 380 ish.
She has at the moment, 3" turbo back exhaust, decat.
Green panel filter,
EcuTek remap, 328 HP,
Whiteline rear antiroll bar and droplinks, new bushes all round.
3 gauge prosport dash pod,
Full service history with cambelt and all pullies/rollers done 300 miles ago.
What I have planed first, anti lift kit, how can I tell if this is done or not?
3 port boost solenoid, does it need a remap after fitting?
And some nice coilovers, maybe bc's. How easy are these to fit myself?
Then full wheel lazer set up.
And maybe some nice light window tinting.
Hope to make some meets soon. It feels great to be part of this community already.

Welcome :D
Couple of pointers ;) its scooby ;) its no longer a PPP'd car if its been remapped (just an sti with an ecutek remap now), you will need a remap if you fit a 3 port solenoid, window tinting on the rear can make the car look more "jdm" as they have darkened rear glass as standard, no real need to change the suspension to BC's unless they start knocking (common issue), upping the power to 380bhp will mean a different exhaust, turbo, injectors, remap, but note the bigger the turbo the laggier the car, if you go "old school" turbo (and not an ebay special), then its not going to be as good as a nice new billet type one (which will set you back 1200ish quid new), and see how much the insurance will add to your policy (it may be pretty high due to the turbo change) so be aware of that ;)

Welcome mate and hope you enjoy your Scobby :D

I;ve had a Scobby for 5 yrs and love it.

Before that I had a Ford Crocus.

It has a ppp certificate in the car papper work and booklets. Look like it was from the factory.

And bigger exhaust. It has a full 3" decat system.
And that is loud enough!

The PPP denotes the prodrive performance pack, fitted after the car has been sent to the dealers, its not a factory fit item, and its only valid if you retain the PPP ecu and map, sports cat and exhaust (2.5 inch), after that you just have another STI which means its probably worth slightly less, an age old ploy to make people think its been done by Prodrive when its not :( so its now just an STI unless you revert the car back to its original PPP specification ;) that bit of paper is useless :(

Ok thanks. Do I really need to change turbo for 380 ish? Turbo money seems a lot for another 50 bhp.
Money better spent I think if I get Harvey headers and up pipe, 3 port and maybe launch control. Then a remap. Does that sound better?

Maybe buy a used 20g turbo, buy a front mount with induction kit and. With a remap you will have somewhere near the power you want. If you buy a used turbo and sell your Sti top mount to a wrx owner then it dosnt have to cost the earth either.

I have a wrx and got a vf43 turbo, Sti top mount, Sti pink injecters, full decat, walbro fuel pump all mapped on the road for 1200 quid and 350hp 380lbft.

You won't need half of what I paid for and you can sell your old top mount and turbo to help fund it.

I'm only a rookie at all this but that's what id do. There are a lot of more clued up guys here that could prob help more so just giving my opinion.

Good. Look mate, and enjoy your car :-)

Thanks guys. Looks like I have about £1000 to spend after buying, insuring and a service.
