v3 type r iacv

hi, the idle valve on my type r is doing my head in, i keep getting code 24 but tobe honest the idle isnt too bad, the problem is when i get the check engine light the car will not run wot it almost feels like its misfiring, if i dip the clutch and let it return to idle the light goes out and the car performs as it should.
i have cleaned the valve twice, i have also bought a second hand one which was working perfect (apparently) which seemed worse. but still getting the code and the misfiring(cel only).
i am starting to think that the wiring may have an issue.:wonder:
also new plugs gapped perfect,
new leads,
new coilpack,
any ideas much appreciated
cheers

Anyone?

How well did you clean it? There should be no corrosion at all in the top part with the spindle and the spindle should rotate easily with absolutely no sticking.

I found that WD40 sprayed into the IACV air hose while the car is running does wonders to clean it without having to unbolt it from the manifold. You will have to fiddle with the spindle while doing this to prevent the car from shutting off.

The wiring for the IACV goes through one of the two big connection blocks (the blocks with lots of wires going to them) near the battery. Sometimes the terminals in them get corroded. However in the case that happened to me, the problem was constant and not intermittent like yours.

Yea I know what you mean, but I just cant think what else it may be , I don't see how it could be sticking
