Annoying clutch judder HELP HELP HELP

hi, , just put a new exedy stage 1 clutch kit on my 2005 wrx by pole position in Willenhall, car juddered on 1st and second gear, took the car back and they blamed the clutch which i supplied them, so i said ok you supply me with a clutch then, they put their own exedy clutch on but still judders there. then blamed the flywheel which had hot spots on it, got that skimmed too.

but no difference at all, The car judders on 1st and second gear again, tried another flywheel form another car, still the same
without throttle, let the clutch go and the whole car shakes badly. i really can not believe it .. car has only done 40k miles

All the egine and gearbox mounts were checked and all are ok.

the guys at pole position in willenhall do not know what the problem is now !!!! they said they are puzzled !!!

called them today and they guy is saying that could be gearbox oil or the whole gearbox!!! they want to change gearbox oil now ?? how is that related though??

please guys,, any advice????

should i do couple of hard launches so the clutch might bed in??? i have heard this issue got solved by others who had same problem

Help

Thanks
Sam

I guess the judder was not there before the clutch change? If it wasn't how can it be the box or the oil?.....

Seeing as their supplied clutch still juddered i would be looking for a refund then take it elsewhere, sounds like the garage do not have a clue!

I get judder now and then mainly when cold. I find just slipping the clutch sorts mine out. As for polepossition they know what they doing and have some very good feedback on here and other forums.

We've stopped using Exedy pink box clutches due to judder issues.
Yes, we have found in one or two cases that a good ragging helps to settle them down, unfortunately not all of them.
It isn't the garages fault, I bet they are properly ticked off having to pull the box out that many times!

http://www.sheffieldsubaruservice.co.uk

Car drives fine, heard alot of bad things were the flywheel hasnt been skimmed causing judder. Or a exedy copy is used

stewart1397 03 September 2011 11:43 AM

mine still had a judder with a brand new flywheel

I've had two exedy clutches judder really badly - yes they were genuine - yes they were the supposed 'anti judder' clutches. I now have an AP clutch and it's as smooth as silk!

i have had a grey box exedy clutch in mine since 2007 and never had a problem with it and it has had of plenty of abuse.

It's a tough one. It's all about the cash. You start tuning these cars and the clutch becomes an issue. You fit one that should do it, but it judders. The next one up (AP Racing) costs £150 more. That's all there is to it!
