Parallel fuel rails
 

So, i'm looking into running billet fuel rails from Carl Davey.

However, i'm a bit :wonder: about a few things,

Is it important to have equal lengths of pipe from both rails to the FPR?

If you buy some an6 braided fuel hose, can you simply cut it yourself to measurement or is it best to buy it precut to length?

Will the stock fuel filter suffice or am i best getting an uprated one such as the fuel lab one lateral performance sells?

The length of the lines does not really matter. I have a APS system on my bugeye and that connects to the OE fuel filter okay. I am looking at doing a engine rebuild next year so may look at using braided hoses and fittings for the asthetics so will probably put a different filter on then.

Not to essential to have equal length pipes but as equal as you can make them and still fit nice and yes you can cut your own with just putting insulation tape through the cut line to stop the braid fraying up.

Thanks. Did you get the APS system shipped from America or from UK? Did it contain fuel pipes too?

So if possible, try to get equal length? With the tape on the pipe, will the an6 cheers. connectors still seal tight over the top of the hose?

As equal as possible but it all depends where you need to run them in the engine bay,it will not effect anything,the real reason for the mod is to stop starvation of the left hand fuel rail as fuel enters the right hand rail first before going over the left on the standard setup.
Once pressure is obtained on turning the ignition on the hole system see's the same amount of fuel regardless of length of each pipe:thumb::thumb:
Once you made the cut with the tape on you can remove it before inserting the pipe into the connector due the tight fit any way it will make life very hard to put it in with tape on as well.

The feed being parallel is the most important thing as that stops number 3 getting the fuel last and running lean. The length is not critical as Ryan says :)

You running a billet 35R? Who built the the engine if you dont mind me asking?

Yes a mk2 billet 35r, the engine has been built by pennine subaru
