Golf 2.0 GTI MK4 any good?
As title my sister is looking at one are they any good? Any problems to look for?

No. You are paying for a GTI badge but no GTI performance.
115BHP if I remember right and they feel slower than that. No faster than the 1.6 105BHP Golf but worse on fuel and higher insurance costs. If she is after a nippy MK4 Golf, tell her to get the 1.9 GT TDI 130. Much better. :thumb: |
i agree with above tbh

Yup Gear Head, its the 2ltr 8v engine that they had in the mk3, not good for a car that added weight, most mondeo's of the time could leave them standing!
Also avoid the N/A 1.8 20v engine. Tony:) |
Tell her to spend a bit more and get a MK5 GT Sport TDI

not to concerned about the power, the gt tdi is out of her price range as she has just bought a house. she choose the gti as it has more spec over the standard petrol cars.

No point paying the premium for the GTI. |
